Warning: This competition may sound confusing. Pay close attention to the rules and please ask questions if you don't understand something.
Introduction
The men are separated from the ladies in this competition. You're all standing on pedestal atop a rotating circular surface. The men's are going counter clockwise, the women's are going clockwise.
In the center is a large pendulum that's going back and forth. This is sturdy enough to knock you off your balance and onto the mats below, resulting in elimination. This competition will go until there is one person left, which means you're all in for a potentially long night.
Offense
When this competition begins, I will be randomly assigning someone to take control of the pendulum. That person will then attempt to aim it at someone on the other side of the field. (*throws towards [ Name ])
Defense
The person being targeted has one of two options - they could simply duck in which case the pendulum will swing past them and then swing back to the other side. Or they could catch it.
Ducking
If they duck, they must post within 5 minutes (*ducks*) of the initial throw. If the duck is unsuccessful (It's late or they just didn't post) it will hit them and they will fall off the pedestal.
If the duck is successful, the pendulum will swing back to the other side in which the person next in line to the thrower will be presented with the same two options.
Catching
On that note, the other option is catch the pendulum and re-direct it's aim. To do this, you must post within one minute to catch it and throw it towards a new person at the other side. (*catches and throws towards [ Name ]*) If the catch is unsuccessful (Late), the catcher will lose balance and fall. If the catcher is able to catch it and throw at someone else, the competition just continues as normal.
Elimination
Whenever someone is eliminated, the last person the pendulum was at will throw. If that person does not throw within 5 minutes, anyone's fair game to throw it.
This competition will continue until one person is left. There may be a time where one entire side is knocked out. If it gets to that point, we will randomly shuffle up the sides evenly and continue as normal.
Example
I know this may sound very confusing, but it's all quite simple once you get into and get a hang of what you're doing. Let's do an example off what we see above.
Let's say Kaysar is given the pendulum to start the competition off.
Kaysar throws towards Rachel.
Rachel ducks, the pendulum will now swing towards the person next in line - that being James.
James ducks, it now swings back to the ladies. Next person in line is Michelle.
Now let's say Michelle catches it, she can now throw it to any of the guys. Let's say she throws towards George.
George tries to duck, but is too late and falls. Michelle regains the pendulum and can now throw to anyone again. Competition continues as is.
Careful!
Due to the nature of this competition, edits and deletions will result in immediate disqualification - no matter the reason. Any further questions, ask them here.
FAQ
Q: Using the example you provided, what would happen if Michelle had missed it, who would it go to?
A: When someone is out, the pendulum goes to the last person who initiated an action (Ducking or throwing). So it'd go to James.
Q: What happens if multiple people post at a time? Will they be penalized?
A: When the pendulum is reset after an elimination and the person it is supposed to go is not here, I stated anyone can attempt to go after that. The first person who is able to throw it will be counted, but if anyone else tries at the same time and is slower, they will not be penalized. Also, don't worry about any extra posts or double posts. I will do my best to clean up. Other than that, there shouldn't be any other times where people are scrambling to post all over the place.
